October
Well the month of October has been a very exciting time for me in the Glades. I have decided to devote this slower month
of charters to exploring new fishing grounds in the far remote backcountry of Hells' Bay, Pearl Bay, and Lane Bay located
inside Everglades National Park. The few customers I have had this month have been very fortunate to visit waters that
only a handful of people have ever fished. Which means it is not all that uncommon to have days where we may catch over
a hundred Snook, Tarpon, and Redfish on artificial lures and flies. These fish range in size from 6 inches all the way to 20
pounds and were all released to be caught another day. The only details and advise I can give you about locations is that
you better have a good sense of direction because there are no charts or maps telling you how to get home. I once heard
a story about another guide who had fished the area for over 20 years that got lost for several days in those remote ponds.
Tight Lines and Great Fishing,
Hot Spots:
Snook and Redfish: Falling tides of Shark River and little Sable Creek. Tarpon can also be found up to 30 Pounds tearing up
bait balls in these areas. Trout can also be found on the grassier edges and potholes of Shark and Little Shark River.
