Fishing report for the week ending 11/22/09 with warm days and cool nights snook are plentiful in the canal systems and in the river with the best times being mid day after the sun has warmed the water a bit, if you get out early the fish are there but sluggish to eat. Redfish have jumped to there winter pattern of roaming the shallow flats on high tides and finding potholes on low water, its still a little early before they go to real skinny water for the winter. I am seeing lots of schooling size trout with a mix of good slot fish and some into the 3lb. range softbaits drifting sand and grass mixed bottom in 3-6 ft. of water is best. The areas that are holing trout are also producing mackeral, bluefish, pompano and ladyfish. There have been scools of tiny anchovies moving though the bay which the birds and all of these fish are feasting on, anytime you see the birds working and diving investigate you will always find plenty of action. Our weather looks very good for the next week with sunny day and light wind, take advantage of this it could only get worse!
