We are off to a great start this tournament season. I had the pleasure of fishing with some friends aboard the "Midnight Blue" in the first Sailfish Tourney of the season. The "Sailfish Cup" was a great success. We made the long run up to Palm Beach both days to catch 11 out of 14 fish. We finished second on day 1 taking home the second place calcutta money, and finished 3rd overall in the tourney. It was a first class tourney all the way. We made the long run up to Palm Beach both days to catch 11 out of 14 fish. Congrats to Mark Wodlinger on the "Catch One" for taking 1st overall, and to Jim Lambert on the "Reely Tight" for taking second over all.
On Friday and Saturday we fished the " K- Rock Classic on my boat. We ran up to Boca and pretty much fished there there whole day. We went 5/5 on sailfish and took second place in the small boat calcutta. On day 2 we fished off of Lighthouse Point and caught 4 fish finishing in 10th place over all in the tourney. We are excited having a great start in the tournament season this yr.
I have also done a few daytime swordfish trips in the last 10 days or so. We have caught at least one of all of our trips catching 3 on our best day. All the fish have been in the 100lb range. Daytime swordfishing has really become a fun sport. I have a full week this week with Thanksgiving in the mix. The fishing should only get better with this coldfront coming in this week. We also have the Winter Swordfish Tourney coming up on Dec 1st and and the Sailfish Kickoff on Dec 6th. We are looking forward to these 2 tourneys. I still have a few of the Islamorada and Palm Beach Tourneys open on my boat, or yours if you need a hand.
Give me a call and let's get out there and cash in on our winter season!
