Today we had 4 clients 3 local and 1 from Louisiana. Althought the bite offshore has been slow lately possibly due to the heat, we decided to try to have our clients have a stab at Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi) fishing. Bait at Bugs Light consisted of small bluerunners with the occasional cigar minow. After trolling for a couple of hours we managed to find some birds working an area about 20 miles offshore. Here we where able to have our clients catch and experience dolphin fishing. Fish where rather small so we only kept enough for the dinner table. During the afternoon hours we worked some of the wrecks of Key Biscayne where we where able to keep some rods bent with small Barracudas. At night the Yellowtail and Mangrove Snapper continue to be the best bet. Be careful returning home and watch your speed as we are in Lobster season and the commercial fishermen have their traps set.
Till next time Tight Lines
