It has been a great summer of bass fishing o0n Lake Okeechobee. We have caught bass all summer on a lethora of artificial baits. Horny Toads, Flukes, Skinny Dippersa, spinner baits and a number of soft plastics have all caught fish for us this summer. We are approaching the time of year (fall & winter) when more big female bass are caught on Lake Okeechobee than at any other time. Shiner fishing is the more popular way to catch the really big 8 to 12 pound bass but there are great numbers of them taken on artificials also. We are looking forward to haveing a great spawning season, the water is up there are more small bass than in many years and there is an abundance of native vegetation on the lake.
