Met the Posts at the crab shack on the Cotee river this morning at 6:15, they drew me for their guide today for the YMCA charity tournament. At our first stop as I', setting up Elaine(Mrs Post) tells me they sponsored last year but got not a bite, so I tell her we'll get at least one bite, I bait and cast out Jennifer's pole and then her Dad's(Scott). Leaving Elaine for last, I tossed out her bait and went to get a drink from the cooler and hear the great sound of drag screaming, Elaine got her first bite, pressures off till it heads for the rocks she tamed the nice upper slot red, 29 3/4 inches, got some pics for the tournament and off she went, ( THE RED, that is)! Next cast produced an under slot snook and then it happens , now keep in mind we are fishing a bar tossing our baits to the pot hole on the east side, and the pot hole is 4 feet deep. TAILS! every where filling up the pothole So I promptly re baited Elaine's pole and tossed out about 10 inches in front of the tail and fish on!!!!!!!!!!

After a 20 minute battle my novice client was becoming very proficient at pulling and steering the big fish away from danger. She had a big black drum. Although we hooked 2 more they were able to swim away with no more than a sore lip.Time 7:30, the bite shut off and we moved to another oyster bar that has been producing well and for 2 hours The Posts caught and released reds, having several doubles and a couple of triples, and just to keep it interesting , on one of the triples I tossed out a GULP! and hooked up! The bite was pretty much done for us by 10:00 and we messed with some trout and headed in. On the way in I told Elaine , "I told you we would get at least one bite today!"
