September 18th, 2006 The temperature has fallen just a bit and there is a good feeling in the air. We have enjoyed some nice Alabama deep sea fishing trips over the past 10 days. We have some offshore trolling trips coming up over the next two weeks and we are ready to go. Our big game trolling off the Alabama Gulf Coast is certainly not that of places like Costa Rica. However, it is a great alternative for those anglers who have had their share of bottomfishing and want a chance to hook a dolphin(mahi mahi), wahoo, tuna, white marlin or even a blue marlin. If you have the patience and understand that you may have the trip of a lifetime or not even see a fish, then this is a great trip for you. This is the nature of big game trolling.
See the pics below from some of our Alabama fishing charters last week.
Al Black, a very good friend of mine and myself, after a fun trip with his family.
al black and family
Al Black and his family. We had a wonderful time celebrating Al's birthday the night before with some delicious shrimp and grouper. Happy Birthday Al. You have a great family.
wahoo Brian
Wahoooooooo......... It took a little teamwork from Brian and his buddies to reel in this 40lb wahoo. A nice one !
Brians group
Variety, variety variety. It just doesn't get much better than this on a Saturday. Fishing, football, good food and fun. We all enjoyed our favorite football teams from Sirius Satellite Radio on the back deck while everyone was busy reeling in fish. There is nothing like listening to college football while fishing almost 50 miles offshore. We landed a nice 40lb wahoo while trolling. As you can see in the pic above, we also caught amberjack, almaco jacks, grouper, scamp, vermillion snapper, white snapper, red snapper and triggerfish. It was good to see my cousin Brian again. We are looking forward to having this group back soon.
Jessie
It was nice to have Jessie and his group back with us again. A great catch of amberjack, scamp, grouper, vermillion snapper, king mackeral, white snapper and red snapper. The 12 hour Alabama fishing charter is all about variety and usually some big fish.
