These amberjack gave a good fight on this 12 hour deepwater fishing trip.
A really great variety of fish including amberjack, triggerfish, red grouper, jumbo white snapper, red snapper, vermillion snapper, king mackeral and a dolphin(mahi mahi). We all enjoyed this 12 hour deepwater Alabama fishing charter.
Some nice red snapper, king mackeral and a grouper caught by three anglers as seen below. We chose to target red snapper and stay out of the deepwater on this particular trip.
Another full day trip with a great group. We had a nice catch of red snapper, king mackeral, vermillion snapper and triggerfish.

August 15th, 2006 We had an awesome Full Day trip on the Getaway today with a red snapper weighing over 20 lbs, a big blackfin tuna, scamp, grouper, almaco jack, vermillion snapper, triggerfish, white snapper, king mackeral and a sailfish probably weighing 80 to 90 pounds. August 13th, 2006 We enjoyed our short 4 day vacation. We returned on Friday with a nice 12 hour trip. We have some good fishing ahead with the remainder of August and then moving into fall and winter. The redfish will be showing up in late October and can be caught on 4 and 6 hour trips through February. We run all of our trips year round.
August 12th, 2006 Chad Hughey and his buddies treated their friend to a bachelor party fishing trip on Saturday. They only wanted a 6 hour trip and return for an afternoon of relaxation before a Saturday night celebration. This was a great group of guys. We all had fun. We had the music happening on the back deck with a variety of rock from Sirius Satellite radio. Oh yea, the fishing. We trolled and caught spanish mackeral and king mackeral. We also caught some red snapper and a triggerfish while bottomfishing. A nice catch of fish on a 6 hour trip. Fun and fishing on the Getaway.
August 11th, 2006 Terry Butts and his group fished with us on a 12 hour trip. A fun time by everyone. Terry told me after the trip that the variety of fish we caught made this trip different from all of his other Alabama deep sea fishing trips in the past. We caught triggerfish, red snapper, king mackeral, dolphin(mahi mahi), scamp, grouper, amberjack, vermillion snapper and white snapper. A fun day on the Alabama Gulf Coast.
August 4th, 2006 We are taking a short vacation next week and will be back on the Gulf waters on August 11th with a 12 hour bottomfishing trip. We have a couple of Saturdays remaing in each of the following months: August, September, October, November and December. There are still weekdays available in each month. We have certainly been busy this past week with our short and long trips. I hope you enjoy the following photos and fishing reports.
Today's 4 hour trolling trip produced an exceptional catch of spanish and king mackeral. As I looked back, the fish appeared to be jumping into the box. We were happy to see the Oakes family experience one of the hottest trolling bites this year.
We were happy to have Tom Fendley and his group from Jackson, Tn. We all enjoyed watching these young fellows reel in red snapper, big vermillion snapper, and scamp. As you can see in the pics from the trips this week, the red snapper bite has improved.
