The summer fishing has stayed the same over the past month with no
changes except the water dropping a foot or so.The bigger fish are taking cover
and the flipping bite is next to none.Early morning is the best time for numbers
of fish on main river points and shell beds a C Rig and Rattle Trap will get plenty
of bites if you find the bait fish. After the sun gets up take out the
flipping stick and start beating the main river bank.Heavy grass mats around
fallen timber are key.A Bitters Bait and Tackle Crawdad in the Junebug Blue
color rigged on a 1 oz weight has worked best for us the past few weeks.
We should be getting another small shad hatch sometime in the next 30 days
and this will get the schooling fish going again.I am looking forward to the great
fall of the year fishing. If you remember last year in Oct we were having 40 to 70
fish days with fish to 6 or 7 pound fish on just about ever trip.
