The weather has been crazy the past week with some mornings starting out
with low 30's and other mornings starting out in the mid 50's. The shiner bite has
been very good and the artificial bite has been on and off. As usual the artificial bite
has been by far better on the warmer days. Over the weekend it took 5 fish weighing
21 pounds to win a tournament on Saturday and 19.98 pounds to win during the
first Sunday of the month tournament held today Dec 5th,
The schooling fish the past week have slowed down due to the water temps dropping
into the low 50's, this has pushed these fish to shallower waters looking for warmth.
The mid mornings have been better on the colder days as far as artificial bites go.
These fish seem to turn on when the water temps it 58 to 60 degrees.
The shiner fishing has been good throughout the entire day, even on the colder
mornings we are able to get the fish to react to a wild shiner floated under a cork
in 2 to 10 ft of water.
