The numbers of fish being caught are way down. But the Trophy Fish are still

being caught. The water temps last week were reaching the mid 90's

by 2 pm and the fishing was really tough after 11 am.The past few days

the high water temps are back in the mid to upper 80's like they need to be

for the month of Aug.The river is rising again and I am starting to see more

and more shad pod's so I expect things to pick up any day now.

My clients Willie and Kenny of TX fished a 4 hr trip on Saturday and

the bite was very slow. But Willie made the best of it and caught this

beautiful St Johns River Trophy in the last 10 minutes of the trip.

The Trophy Bass was 9 3/4 Lbs and hit a Bitters Bait and Tackle 7.5

Junebug Bluetail Worm off a fallen tree in 8 ft of water.
