The past week we have had some very cold weather again here in Central FL. Water Temps have dropped into the low 50's again. The fish seem to be getting adjusted to the colder water and not moving off the shallow spawning flats when the water temp drops.Jack Goldsmith was in town this week to fish for 4 days and the artificial bite was steady. The numbers were not great but Jack is the type of fisherman that will take size over numbers any day as his biggest fish of the trip was 10 pounds and a beautiful 9 1/2 pound fish was also caught. The fish have stayed shallow all week and were willing to hit a Texas rigged worm and a shallow running crankbait everyday.I have a couple days in Feb still open due to dates changed with clients.I have the 8th 19th 21st 28th open for Feb.In March I have a lot of open days at this time.March and April are two great months for catching Trophy Bass here in FL as the weather starts to warm and the winter coldfronts get mild. With the harsh cold weather we have seen in Central FL this winter I expect the spawn to run well into April this year. We have started the year off with a bang on double digit fish and the great thing is that most of these fish over 10 pounds have been caught on artificial baits so far this year.Take a look at our 2009 Trophy Page to see the results.
