Inshore fishing has offered anglers a plethora of species to target as cooler conditions prevailed this past week. The fronts are starting to push through south Florida offering comfortable fishing conditions.
Snook action has been great in the back bays and canals offering anglers great number of catch. Jigging DOA C.A.L. 3” shad tail or live baiting has been the methods used. Snook are very active along docks and mangrove edges, top water action offers angler explosive strikes.
The snook have been averaging 18 to 30 inches many trips angler can expect to catch 3 different species of snook.
Night time strictly fly fishing, anglers can expect many small fish but tarpon, jacks, moon fish and snapper all in the mix.
The tarpon bite has been decent offering a few shots at fish using DOA C.A.L. 3” shad and live baits. The tarpon are schooled up but fish have been hard to catch at times. Bite should bet better as water temperatures linger around low 70s.
The channels and drop offs are teaming with jacks, bluefish, mackerel, snapper, snook, pompano and drum. DOA C.A.L. 3” shad tail in glow / gold rush belly and live shrimp provoke strikes.
Freshwater side the largemouth bass and crappie bite is great around channel edges and bridges, small jugs and swim baits create strikes. Clown knife fish are abundant as well striking small swim baits and shiners.
