Plenty of trout fishing still to be had in the Pocono's. Warm weather and the shad run in full swing many anglers have turned their attentions away from the local trout streams leaving unfished hatches and solitude for the dedicated angler. The tan caddis hatch has been sporadic for the last couple weeks, and with the considerable damage from last years floods don't expect it to be much more then it is. With that being said early to mid mornings have seen enough hatching caddis to drawn many fish to the surface. One successful midday tactic has been dead drifting Rosenbauer´s Rabbits Foot Emergers and BH Rub-a-Dub Caddis under indicators. If you're looking for more exciting action, and what can be more exciting then a caddis hatch, try skating a size 18-20 elks hair across the tops and bottoms of the slower pools. For those in-between slow times try swinging emerger patterns across and down the faster riffles with a final pop at the end of the drift to raise the fly to the surface. I guaranty that you will not be disappointed.
