Huli Cat was priviledged to take out a number of Purple Heart Veterans associated with the Military Order of the Purple Heart. 30 anglers braved sloppy conditions to fish in about 120 feet of water for rockfish and lingcod off the Three Rocks area. Capt Mike "Pacific Hooker' Velasquez was my right arm, assisted by Anna Stockel and Rick Berg. Brian Houston also worked on the deck to help the anglers catch fish with quite a roll on the ocean. Afterwards, Sam's Chowder House brought the Chowdermobile to the American Legion and served clam chowder, fish tacos and fish & chips.
When you think about what these folks gave for us, it was rewarding to give a little back. On my side, it was amazing to hear so many people thank me, and thank me again for taking them out. The Crew was invited over to the American Legion Hall in Princeton, where we ate and spent more time with our anglers.
