Quepos Fishing has been a mixed bag the last week around this moon. With some boats doing great up to 50 miles offshore and some with decent reports at 25-28 miles. From Feb 7 The Mitchells with 1 striped Marlin, 4 Sailfish Released and 7 Yellowfin Tuna, The 8th with Grover Moore with a Marlin and 1 Sail. Ed Dunklee returned for his 3rd trip here and on his 3rd day of fishing released his first Costa Rica Marlin. This week with David Couch Group from Chupacabra Outdoors released 5 Sails on the 16th while inshore fly anglers had a blast with Roosterfish. Feb. 17th yielded 6 Sails for Brad Brisson, 3 Releases for Robert McManus and 5 Sails for Janet Smith, Inshore yielded Roosterfish, 3 Snapper and 1 Mackeral inshore for the Sanders group. The Marlin are still offshore but the reports are not like they were in January and early Feb. The inshore bite has been very consistent for anglers seeking Roosterfish. Jeff from the Chucabra Outdoors went out again yesterday afternoon after not getting a rooster in the morning but was rewarded in the afternoon with 2 Big Roosters and a bunch of Jacks and Brad Brisson who went out in the afternoon also had a fantastic Costa Rica Fishing Report with 5 for 7 on Roosterfish. I always find it amusing to read the Costa Rica Fishing reports from Boat Owners that report on their 3 trips for the month. It seems much more fun to see the big picture on mulitple boats. Don't forget if you are planning on being in Costa Rica in March, join the fun of the Costa Rica Classic March 11 & 12 and the Costa Rica Challenge March 18 & 19
