What an incredible day of fishing today with Ron Young and his grandson Aaron from Escanaba, who will be going into the 3rd grade this Fall. We left the Gladstone Yacht Harbor at 6:30 and started trolling bottom bouncers and Walleyes Choice harnesses. By 8 a.m. we had our limit and were just fun fishing, trying different colors, blade sizes, etc. looking to trigger some bigger fish. We let a lot of keepers go free and lost several nice fish as well. We caught our larger fish suspended higher up in the water column, but the majority of our fish were within 5 feet of bottom. We did some drifting today as well with floating jig heads tipped with crawler halves. Aaron caught a beautiful 14 inch perch while we were drifting. We ended up with a half a dozen perch to add to the filet pile. It was another beautiful day on the bay! Here's some pictures of today's catch. Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
