Tim had booked a one on one half day crappie trip wanting to learn more about the lake and ways to fish it. We caught crappie out of most every place we tried. Most of the fish came off brush piles, we also caught fish under bridges, timber and suspended brush. We used both jigs and minnows. The minnow bite was doing much better than the jig bite but that is pretty normal during the summer months. We ended up catching around 70 crappie total with 43 keeper size but only keeping our limit of 25.

The water is only a couple of inches low with the temp being in the upper 80's, The water clarity is good. Brush piles in the 25 to 30 ft range is producing good numbers. Timber from 15 to 25 ft are holding some good fish but not many at one place. Bridges are good in the day time and at night. During the summer, live bait seems to aways be the top producer but the jig bite will still catch fish just not as many.
