Well I wish I could say the lake came up with the rains last week, but I can't. We barely came up at all. Good news with that is the water temps didn't do too bad. Found 60 degree water today. Plus the water clarity is pretty good. You need to be careful running the old railroad. It is getting pretty shallow down toward Pierce and there are some lay downs in the middle of the track.
Bass fishing hasn't slowed much. We caught them pretty good today. The trap has been the best producer for us the last week. Either a red or gold trap or flat shad should do. We are catching most of them in 6 to 8 feet of water, but some shallower. A revenge viberator is producing some fish. Mainly the shallower fish. A spinnerbait is also working for us. Either a Johnson limit gitter chartruese/white or a revenge chartruese shad 1/2 oz is what we have had the best luck on. Haven't done well on the soft plastics since the front. Did Tuesday before the front. I bet after tomorrow it won't be a problem getting bit on a watermelon/red or gold fluke.
Larry caught a couple nice slot fish today.
Scotty had one too.
Pat did well before the front.
The sand bass are still in the mouths of the creeks. They gulls were working pretty hard again today, but we didn't fish for them. I still ike a chartruese/white with some red 1oz slab for them.
I do have the afternoon of March 23 open and a full day March 30th. Fishing should really take off this week with the warm weather forecasted. Looking forward to it.
Thanks
Dannie
