Chokoloskee - Saltwater Fishing Report

Myself,Gil Drake, and Lee Dunn have been fly fishing this past week for reds.

It has been fantastic site fishing for reds, with a mix of 8 to 12 pound snook.

Whats is somewhat strange, is the reds are very hard to get to eat.Usually if you get the fly anywhwere near them, they usually jump right on the fly, this week we did alot of sightings but not alot of takers.

Yesterday we threw at probably 40 reds, I was the only one to strip set on one redfish and landed it,probably 27"-29".

I was happy to see those large snook but couldn't get them to eat yesterday.

After the freeze we didn't expect to see many snook, but we did.

The Trout fishing is still fantastic and their is no problem getting your limit.

I do know 1 thing,If we were to have been throwing shrimp at the reds, we would have caught dozens.

Get out and take advantage of the trout and reds.

Tight lines,

Capt.Bet Brakus
