The inshore bite is great now, the water temp has dropped down into the mid 70s for a few weeks but now it is back up to the low 80s.The redfish action has been AWESOME they are scattered around but in large schools i had a trip on Friday and we limited out on trout first thing in the morning then around 10 a.m we were redfishing. We found a huge school of reds about 40-50 reds all of them were in the upper slot 26-27"and the majority of them were well over the slot up to 32".The way i like to fish a large school is try artificials first like top waters, jerk baits, and suspending lures if that dosent pan out then use live bait we had alot of white bait and i used my chum slinger that i bought from PRECISION TACKLE in spring hill,to get the reds fired up and FISH ON non stop action we landed 23 redfish in 2 hours. My favorite way to rig the bait is to have 10lb power-pro,a 20lb suffix leader, and a 3/0 circle hook, I like circle hooks because 99% of the time it will hook the fish right in the corner of the mouth and it prevents gut hooked fish. The trout bite is great in 1-3 feet of water thay will hit just about anything you throw at them my favorite lures is a top water rapala skitter walk in the morning then a sebile in the white color in the afternoon.I have seen some big snook in the creeks from bayport north to chazz i have been throwing sebiles twitch baits and yo-zuri diving plugs in the mullet pattern at them. But thay have been a little picky. So i have
to say the fishing is great both inshore and offshore so book a trip with Capt.Josh and you will have a great day on the water.
