Started out in Georgia checking on some schooled up reds it's early but the reds are schooled up in a secret little area I am saving for my next charter. But what all the talk is lately is the mullet run so I headed to the rocks/Jetties with catching redfish on fly! Well I started out with a floating line and Baker Special that John & I invented for striper's for John & brown trout for me that is another story though, This fly get's down & dirty with out a sink tip but I wanted to search deeper in the feeding frenzy so I switched the Orvis quick change fast sink tip fly line what a great set up so you don't have to buy extra spools especially on a guides budget. So I'm letting this fly sink and Bam Fish on I was using this like I was nymphing a big river with constant mending to slow the drift and help keep the fly in the strike zone speaking of Strike-Zone is having a big tent sale soon. The preferd color was gray&white! "match the hatch Mullet" well after a couple hours of this I left the Redfish biting for my next charter clients and other anglers to enjoy. Remember most of these fish are breeders so practice a quick fight and healthy proper release. Tight Loops and Screaming Drags, Captain Jeff Crumpton Your local Orvis Endorsed Guide.
