Remarkable fishing for some parts of the Miramichi. Several fish being hooked and seen jumping and rolling on the lower stretches. With all the rain that has been dropped on us we are seeing great numbers of fish. The water is staying pretty clear and the temperature is in the low 60's which is very good for July.
Some fisherman are reporting seeing alot of small grilse but others including my self are seeing huge grilse 5 & 6 pounds in weight. There were several large fish being seen up and down the river. One fisherman played a 20lb plus salmon for 25 minutes at Edmounds pool and finally had to break him off. What a Fight!
Some fish were reported seen in the Cains River which some may think its early but with high water they will move into the river and hold up at some cold water pools.
Also some reports from the Dungarvan and Renous.
Mr. D Bartlett Fished Dungarvon & South Renous Thurs, Fri & Sat.
South Renous high and dirty Thursday. Dungarvon high on Friday, but dropped during the day. He thought they should of moved some fish, but still very few seen on Saturday morning.
He caught a 10-12 lb. salmon Sat. morning at South Renous on Green glitter bug. No other fish seen.
His 2 buddies lost a salmon at Furlong bridge on the Dungarvon.
Hardly any fish seen but should improve this week with perfect water conditions.
Very good fishing all in all for the 1st week of July. So lets see you out and about with your family or friends and get into that trophy fish of your dreams.
Also below is your Tides and Moon phases.
Bye for now,
