Week 1 has proved to be logistically challenging as snow pack has led to use snow crafts to get into prime pools. Paul the crowbar, and Dom the hammer entered the ice age for the season starter. Making 3 fires a day to stay warm and an axe to chip the ice off the rod guides. These guys proved to be contenders in the steelhead world. With the Steelhead holding a tight lip the odd angler was rewarded. Evening proved to be full of good food and conversation, Ray our chef, and the fine wines of Mr. Ralston's CA reserve made the fingertips feel warmth. A very tough week for sure in Skeena country.

As the fellas flew out to Vancouver our Pennacchio foursome from sunny California spend day 1 on the water. I wondered as I took a temperature reading of 37F will we get fish?

I was guiding Ron and Joe; Barkley was guiding Jeff and Mark. Boondoggin along Jeff hooks a monster, the pic is attached in this photo 29 length by 21 girth, then another 4 more in this pool himself, the other guys quickly start casting, another 5 fish are hooked in this pool, it was a good run of fish. Also attached is father Ron with a chromer hen, who also landed today a 39 inch Steelhead. I will keep this report short as we are in full season and I will be busy on the water, tight lines.

Next week the Russian, the Eye Doctor, Kranny and Alexi. Rivers are starting to rise.
