Things are beginning to change for the better down here in Puerto Vallarta. The water temp is on the up and there has been a few days this week out at El Banco that the water was as close to blue as we have seen in a while. The Tuna out there were in the 20-50 pound range and in great numbers. Not many boats opted to go out that far, but those that did were greatly rewarded. They would hit just about anything you through at them and it made for great light tackle fishing. The Sailfish are out in full swing as well with most of them just off Sayulita. If you headed there this week you most likely were able to get multiple hook-ups. We had Captain Pablo (Kawi) Guzman on Jackpot Marlin take Tom Snyder and family for their first ever sport fishing adventure. They ended up catching 4 Sailfish in just a few hours and called it a day. Not a bad way to get introduced to the sport. Of the 4 Sailfish they were able to release 3 of them; the fourth unfortunately did not survive. We here at Master Baiter's always encourage catch and release of all bill fish and the use of circle hooks. The inshore fishing continues to be hot with all the usual species including Jack Crevalle, Rooster's, Pompano, Sierra's, Snappers, and much more. Weather has been great with good sea condition.
