Here on the Local Knowledge 954 522 4773, we are beginning to see a real strong push of sailfish early this year. A couple of back to back cold fronts and large concentrations of baitfish off our Fort Lauderdale coast has made for an exceptional start. South Florida's live bait practices prove irreresistable to the migrating spindle beaks. Gogs suspended from kite clips and ballyhoos from the riggers are the top producers. Fresh bait does make the difference if your bait has not produced within an hour or so change him out. Be patient but ready sailfish travel in loose schools and pods, so one to ten fish could be on your baits when it happens.
