2/8/10 Not a lot of action to report, but here are the facts as they stand at present, Mr. Bob Priestly, caught 2 Juniors and a Guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy also caught 2 Juniors, in the hired out boat department, Mr. John Jarymn, fishing out of Waterville Boats and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com caught a fine 3.5lbs Sea Trout Wind W and overcast with light rain this evening, amount of rainfall 0.9mm, max air temperature 16.8c. 3/8/10 Mr. Michael O'Sullivan of Waterville boats and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com was telling me that, 10 year old, Master Elliott Devon Hurley, caught his first, 1.5lbs sea Trout on the fly, so congratulations to Elliott, and welcome to the elite fly fishing club, and Mr. Ben O'Connor, also caught 1 Sea Trout, Mr. Derek and John Wynne caught 3 Sea Trout up to 3lbs fishing in a hired out boat from www.Lakelandshouse.com staying in the hired out boat department and Lakelandshouse.com, Derek and Susan caught 2 Juniors, Mr. Phil Cronin and Mr. Dona O'Reilly, caught 4 Sea Trout up to 3.5lbs. Now to the poaching department, I was reading on www.Loughcurrane.com Mr. John Curnew caught 3 Sea Trout, also in good form was Mr. Liam Haye of Edenderry, who caught 2 Sea Trout to his basket, staying with the Sea Trout, Cork angler, Mr. Niall Bourne caught 3 Sea Trout to his rod. Now we head down stream to the Butler Pool, Local Gillie Mr. Mike O'Dwyer caught a Grilse. Wind NW light with reasonable cloud cover, amount of rainfall 1.7mm, max air temperature 17.4c. 4/8/10 Dr. Tim Gleason caught 2 Juniors on the fly, and his Gillie Mr. Mike O'Dwyer, was telling me that they lost a cracker of a fish, or as I would say they had a good rod bender, but sadly losses don't go into the accounts, but at least Tim had some tension on his fly line, now to the Sea Trout department, Edenderry anglers, Mr. Liam Hayes and Mr. Ned Terrell caught 4 Sea Trout, Cork angler Nial Bourne caught 4 Sea Trout to his boat, and just for the record I got these facts from www.Loughcurrane.com Wind NNW fresh with reasonable cloud cover, amount of rainfall 2.2mm, max air temperature 17.4c. 5/8/10 straight to the Sea trout department, Mr. John Curnew caught 5 sea trout fishing out of www.Oshealoughcurrane.com Mr. Michael o'Sullivan of Waterville Boats was telling that one of his hired out boats caught a few Sea Trout, now to the Salmon department, German Anglers fishing with their Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com caught a 5lbs Grilse on the troll. Amount of rainfall 3.7mm, max air temperature 17.8c. 6/8/10 Lough Currane, 2 day competition got into full swing I will give all the facts tomorrow night, none competition anglers, no reports of any real rod benders, Wind WNW fresh to strong at times and overcast with the odd light shower, amount of rainfall 2.5mm, max air temperature 17.8c. 7/8/10 The winner of the Waterville Fisheries Development Group, Catch and Release competition, was Mr. John Buckley of Killarney, who caught 10 fish worth 3250 points and captured 1st prize of a 19 foot Lake Boat, Mr. Daniel Dinger Murphy came second with 2750 points and won a Electric outboard motor, the longest fish over the two day competition was 55cm was caught by Mr. Kevin O'Sullivan, now to the top ten prize winners in full. Mr. John Buckley 10 fish for 3250 points, Mr. Daniel Dinger Murphy, 8 fish for 2750 points, Mr. Rod Robinson, 7 fish for 2220 points, Mr. John Murphy, 6 fish for 1890 points, Mr. Neil O'Shea, 5 fish for 1570 points, Mr. Kevin O'Sullivan 4 fish for 1450 points, Mr. Bill O'Dea, 4 fish for 1310 points, Mr. Julian Smith 4 fish for 1290 points, Mr. John Curnew, 4 fish for 1280 points, Mr. Jim Sayers, 4 fish for 1270 points. Now to other anglers on Lough Currane, there was just one report of a fine Grilse caught by Mr. Keenan fishing with his gillie Mr. Bob Priestly and in the none competition Sea Trout department, Cork angler. Mr. John Quilligan fishing with his clients from Wales, caught 4 Sea Trout up to 2lbs, now we head for the higher lakes and Lough Namona, Local angler Mr. John Young caught 2 Sea Trout both in the 2lbs class, on Lough Derriana, Dr. Tim Gleason, caught 2 fine Sea Trout both in the 2 to 3lbs class. 8/8/10 Northern Ireland Angler, Mr. Mike Taylor, was the toast of Lough Currane today with 4 fine Sea Trout, John caught two Seatrout in the 4lbs class and two Sea Trout in the 3lbs class and finished the day off with 2 smaller trout. Fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O'Shea and of www.Oshealoughcurrane.com amount of rainfall 5.1mm, max air temperature 17.8c.
