/8/09 There was a fine catch by Dr Tim Gleeson who caught a 6lbs Grilse and a fine basket of Seatrout up to 3lbs with his gillie Mr Mike O'Dwyer. I will now head for the poaching department, our Manger Mr John Murphy and of www.Loughcurrane.com is reporting that there were 10 Seatrout caught up to 4.5lbs by Denis and Donnie Collins. Wind SSW fresh to strong and overcast with heavy rain for most of the day and has made another flood, amount of rainfall 17.8mm, max air temperature 16.4c.

/8/09 There were a few Seatrout caught. Wind SW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover. Amount of rainfall 1.1mm, max air temperature 17.8c.

/8/09 Just the odd Seatrout caught but nothing that would satisfy the news at ten team. Wind SW light to fresh with bright sunshine throughout the day. Max air temperature 17.6c, amount of rainfall in the last 24 hours 3.8mm.

/8/09 There were just a few Seatrout caught but nothing that would satisfy we greedy Anglers. Wind SW light with bright sunshine with the odd very light shower, amount of rainfall in the last 24 hours 5.6mm, max air temperature 18.2c.

/8/09 I will go straight into the poaching department because I have missed some fine catches of the past few days, I was reading on www.Loughcurrane.com that our Manger Mr. John Murphy, is reporting two Specimen Seatrout in the 6 to 7lbs class caught by Local angler Mr. Toby Mushler of the Caherdaniel Garden Centre, and last but not least an Angler pontificating and manipulating his flies caught 8 Seatrout to his boat, and back to the present, today there were a few Seatrout caught but no real rod benders and as our Manger was saying, the big flood, has unsettled my noble game fish and there is no argument to that. Wind SSW light with reasonable cloud cover with light rain this evening, amount of rainfall 1.8mm, max air temperature 17.1c.

/8/09 Mr Alderman of Florida USA, fishing on the famous Butler Pool and @ www.Watervillegolflinks.ie caught a fine 7lbs Salmon on the fly, fishing with his gillie Mr Mike O'Dwyer, now I will head upstream to the Big Lake/Lough Currane, there were just a few Seatrout caught on the drift. Wind SW then veered NW late this afternoon light to calm with the odd light shower, amount of rainfall 2.2mm, max air temperature 18.4c.

/8/09 All quiet on the SW front even though there were a few Seatrout. Wind SW light and overcast and the rain came in this afternoon and it has made another flood, amount of rainfall 18.2mm, max air temperature 16.c. That is your ration for this week, from your Gillie and the Waterville Fishery. No Spin No Fly's just Facts
