/9/09 there were a few sea trout caught but no real rod benders. Wind SW fresh to strong and overcast. Amount of rainfall in the 24 hours 1.9mm, max air temperature 17.1c.

/9/09 Good news at last I am back on my bike, the Waterville Fishery fished well to day, I will start with the big lake/Lough Currane, and in the words of a visiting Angler Mr Ted Robertson of the UK, my Gillie Mr Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com was holding the boat as I was casting and he told me to put my Bibio between the rocks because a Salmon will come to your fly, well I thought to my self that's a bit of Kerry Bull, but I did as I was told and the next thing I knew my fly rod was bent double and I caught my self a 10lbs Salmon, so remember don't do what you think, do as your gillie tells you, In The Seatrout department a guest fishing with Mr Michael O'Sullivan of Waterville boats and @ lobsterb@iol.ie caught a few Seatrout up to 3lbs, also in good form was Mr. Nigel Robertson who caught a 3lbs Seatrout with his Gillie Mr Mike O'Dwyer, also in good form was Mr Hamilton with a C&R 5lbs Sea Trout and I believe other boats saw some good fishing. Now I will head up stream because I was reading on www.loughcurrane.com that Mr Denis Dennehy caught 10 Seatrout and finished the day off in style with a 10 lbs Salmon on Lough Derriana. Wind SW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover, amount of rainfall in the last 24 hours 1.5mm, max air temperature 16.1c.

/9/09 Mr. Werner Tutenberg fishing with his gillie Mr Mike O'Dwyer caught 7 C&R Seatrout up to 2lbs also in good form was Mr. Jim Young who caught a 5lbs Seatrout also Colin James caught one junior. Wind WSW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover, plus there was the odd light shower. Max air temperature 16.3c.

/9/09 Again Mr Mike O'Dwyer was in good form again with his clients, Mr Colin James catching two Seatrout and losing two, also in good form in the same boat was Mr. Nigel Robertson who caught four and lost two Seatrout all in the Junior class, and last but not least a guest caught three Seatrout fishing with gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicudy . Wind W light with reasonable cloud cover, amount of rainfall 0.2mm, max air temperature 16.3c.

/9/09 Mr. Werner Tutenberg was in good form again with 4 Seatrout and his Gillie Mr Mike O'Dwyer was telling me that his client rose a good few more. Wind WSW light and overcast with light drizzle throughout the day, amount of rainfall 0.2mm, max air temperature 16.6c. 26/9/09 Lough Currane was flat calm and what wind was veering WSW and WNW light to calm and overcast with light drizzle, and all I can say is if any Angler did catch my Noble Game fish fair play to them, but my mobile was quiet as the wind, max air temperature 14.6c. 27/9/09 again to day there was little to no wind and what wind was there was S then veered W and veered gain late this afternoon from the North but when the wind did get up Anglers did see some action well put it this way Mr Renée Lechmere saw some good activity and the truth of the pudding is in the eating, because Renée caught a Seatrout of 4lbs and he was telling me that he had four C&R Seatrout in the 1.5class and just for the record Renée was fishing out of www.lakelands.com and staying with lakelands.com I was reading there fishing log book and in the past few days their hired out boats have caught good baskets of Seatrout of which the best weighed in at 4.5lbs. Wind as already stated amount of rainfall 0.3mm, max air temperature 16.2c.

/9/09 There were a few Seatrout but nothing that would hit the national headlines. Wind same as yesterday, max air temperature 15.c.

/9/09 There were a few Seatrout caught on Lough Currane and going by what I was reading on the Waterville Angling web site and our Manger Mr John Murphy and www.Loughcurrane.com there has been a number of Seatrout caught, ether early morning or late evening but back to my Noble Gentleman the Salmon because the champagne was opened on the famous Butler Pool and of www.watervillegolflinks.ie when Mr. Crohan O'Shea of Dublin and Waterville caught a superb 13lbs2oz Salmon on the fly with his Gillie Mr Mike O'Dwyer, so congratulations to Crohan on a first class fish. Weather the same as yesterday in all departments. Amount of rainfall 0.3mm, max air temperature 15.2c.

/9/09 Well its that time of year again and the end of the 2009 Season and it ended on a high with a guest fishing with his gillie Mr Neil O'Shea and of www.Oshealughcurrane.com caught a grilse on the troll, also a Guest fishing with his Gillie Mr Terence Wharton caught a Grilse and a Specimen Seatrout in the 9 to 10lbs class which they sportingly put back and staying in the Sea trout department even though the morning was a failure, because Lough Currane was like a milk pond but once the wind got up in the afternoon some anglers saw some good action with Brian, catching four Seatrout up to 3lbs Mr Jim Sayers caught 9 Seatrout up to 2lbs and other Anglers' were telling me that they caught a few Juniors and staying with the Seatrout, our manger Mr John Murphy reported to me that one boat caught 16 Seatrout. Now I will cut across to the River Inny and my fish of the day, it goes to Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Gallaway of the UK who caught a 6.5 Salmon on a Flying C, with their first cast and it was their first time ever Salmon fishing, plus they had the honour of catching the last Salmon of the 2009 Season on the Waterville Fishery with their gillie Mr Vincent Appleby and of www.salmonandseatrout.com Wind n light to calm, max air temperature 14.8c, amount of rainfall for the month of September 124.9mm. As usual at the end of the day all we Anglers headed straight for the Lobster Bar for the traditional end of season bacon and cabbage dinner and the presentation of the Cups and I can tell you a good party was had by all and on that note I will say that is your ration for this week, from your Gillie and the Waterville Fishery. But remember if you want to keep with the news on the Waterville Fishery you can by going to www.Loughcurrane.com On a personal note I hope you all enjoyed reading the Waterville notes as I did writing them and I look forward to keeping you up to date in 2010 see you then, tight lines.
