March 1st Snook season opens, Redfish, and Trout are keepers also.

Tarpon will also be moving in with the warmer water temperatures.

This is the time of year when the fishing turns great and everyone needs a break from the cold north.

This may sound funny but this is also a great time to catch a good size Shark.

The sharks come in and feed around the crab trap lines.

I may be wrong, but I think they come early and wait to feed on Tarpon.

Anyway, you can set the hook on something that pulls back!

Many of our species can give a good fight, but a shark always seems to have other ideas and then there's that attitude.

Long hard runs are always so cool. Then when you get them to the boat they really show off! I lost all the letters off the boat last year.

The Sharks that run this area our the Black Tip, White Tip, Bull, Sand shark, Bonnet head, Atlantic sharp nose, Lemon, Hammerhead, and my favorite the Spinner. The Spinner Shark gets me fired up for POON season.

So remember if that fishing day isn't going so good throw out a big cut bait on a heavy line and hold on baby!

See ya on the water!
