The night bite is hot right now in the greater Sarasota area from Anna Maria Island down to Venice. Really great numbers of Snook are stacked up along the ICW and adjacent residential canals, and targeting them at night is a sure fire way to some great catch and release action.
Last nght the bite was slow with not as many fish being hooked and brought to the boat for release. The weather played a lerge part in that. This doesn't mean the fish weren't there - in fact we saw more Snook within or above the slot than the night before but most of the fish had a serious case of lockjaw. In any case clients managed to pull some fish and the lack of overwhelming hook ups was eased by the average size of the fish caught were around 30".
Other fish caught and released last night included Snapper, and Sea Trout in very good numbers.
