After the rains finally subsided yesterday afternoon I decided to hit the water last night for some catch and release Snook fishing. My goal was to key in on where the Snook were located and what they were biting after all this rain so that I could effectively put Sun Coast Kayak Sport Fishing clients on fish this weekend.
After days no fishing pressure inclimate weather - the bite was red hot last night - despite the murky water. My first fish was a 34 inch Snook and the bite didn't slow from there. Using my flyrod and light spin tackle I caught and released over 20 Snook last night including a monster 41 inch linesider. As I was targeting lighted docks and sea walls I also caught and released 2 big Redfish, Sea Trout, Snapper, and jumped 2 small tarpon in the 15-20# range (unfortunately both either tossed the hook or broke off on heavy barnacle build up along the docks.
It looks like a fantastic weekend in store for clients of Sun Coast Kayak Sport Fishing.
