The Wild rainbow Trout fishing and Shad fishing on the Lower Sacramento River has been great the past month . The last Trout fishing trip out we hooked 10 fish and landed 6 of them in a 3 hour fishing trip all of the fish were Wild Rainbow Trout the largest one was about a 3 lbs. . Trout fishing is great during the summer months on the Sacramento River in Redding The wild Rainbow Trout on this part of the river bite all day fly's, plugs or bugs.

Shad fishing is great right now below the Red Bluff Diversion Dam down to Corning and will be through the month of July the last trip out we fished for 4 hours and hooked 40 fish and managed to land about 20 they weighed any were form 2 lbs. To 6 lbs. Shad are so much fun to catch they fight hard all the way into the net. We were using 1 1/2 grubs in chartreuse with a 1/16 oz. pink grub head . The same bait it has been for many years.
