The little low pressure system this past weekend had the fish acting funny for a day or so. The conditions were good with light rain and over cast but the fish were not feeding like they had been earlier in the week.

There was no shortage of Rat Reds and small trout and the bait stealers were everywhere. I guess they know when the larger fish are not active.

I had several decent trips last week float fishing live shrimp. It was a mixed bag of Trout that were mostly small a few nice Drum a Sheepshead or two and they were very small. The Drum are also starting to show up.

I'm still looking for the big Flounder push and hope it didn't slip past me. The water temperature is still in the mid seventies and no frost yet this year. I can't remember when we haven't had a frost before Thanksgiving.

I think the best to come this fall is just waiting on that first good cold snap when the water tem takes a drop to the high sixties. Lots of fishing this holiday week so hopefully I will have some good stuff to report next week.

Bio: Being a native of Northeast Florida I have enjoyed the excellent fishing and wildlife this area has to offer. I have been fishing the Jacksonville Florida area over 30 years with many a memorable fishing trip starting when I was a kid. We are in between and only minutes away from Amelia Island and St. Augustine, we can enjoy the fishing any direction. From downtown to the mouth of the ocean and all the back water in between.
