Picked up clients at the dock about 8:30 and preceded to our first location. Air temp was about 68 so it made for a nice ride. I noticed that the water was still dirty from the front that passed through on Friday the 3rd. At this spot we were looking for snook and redfish. Throw out a hand full of live bait to get the action going. After 45 min, nothing was happening. Moved on to look for some trout that were hungry a week ago. Again nothing. This is the way it went for the next four hours and ten different spots. I had one hour left and about a dozen baits. Our last location was back in the Mangroves on a point where there was some moving water. I set up and throw out a couple of chumming baits to see if this too was going to be the skunk of the day. After about 15 min's, first line took off. Finally a nice 20" redfish to boat. Put up a nice fight for a small red. We were down to the last 3 baits and all were put on hooks and cast out. Finally the sound we were waiting for. A long fast scream of the reel. Mr snook showed up after all. We boated the fish and it weighed 9 lbs and was 31 inches long.
We waited a long time for those two fish and they did not disappoint. Clients were very happy took some pictures and toasted the end of the day.
Tip: When the water is dirty or cloudy, search for clear water usually back in the mangroves where the tides have not carried the bad water there. Moving water will also help the cause.
Good luck and remember " Its Fun To Catch"
