Smith Lake
January 29th, 2011
Fishing has been up and down the last couple days. As for Saturday it was tough, with a steady 10 mph wind and gust around 20 mph. The lake was rocking most of the day, with very few areas without white caps. On Saturday millers flats was like a ghost town and I didn't even fool with the wind in goat island. I've been having pretty good luck in some areas closer to Misty Harbor Marina lately. Fishing should get better with 4 to 5 days of consistent weather. Most of the fish are in 25 - 40 feet deep and the lake has a lot of stained to heavy stained water. The lake is still at full pool today and should start clearing up a little. Monday and Tuesday look great, with highs in the mid 60's. I'll be posting reports bi- weekly again, starting back this week. I've been fishing and writing reviews for the past couple weeks, so I let my reports slide a little.
Special thanks to Regal Marine LLC, located in Dodge City, Al. For getting my boat in and out, in record time. Thanks, the work looks great!
Also don't forget to stop by Mark's Outdoors, located in Vestavia Hills, Al.
