Snook fishing is explosive right now, this is do to the warm weather patterns we have had. Docks are holding big fish and schooling fish, live baits and small jigs will get your drag screaming. Bridges and dock lights are offering plenty of non stop action. For anglers. Fly, artificial lures and live baits worked near shadow edges and the battle is on. Water has been rally clear so sight fishing for larger fish on sand flats and against seawalls has added to the excitement.
The silver king fishing has been steady fish have been really finicky, live pinfish on the bottom has been the trick the past week. Larger fish are being caught on the last of the outgoing tide. Juvenile tarpon are still concentrated in the back country for those looking for plenty of acrobatic jumps.
Jacks, drum , bluefish, ladyfish and trout are all being caught on the grass flats and near mangrove shorelines. Jigs tipped with shrimp, or small swim baits and top water plugs work as well. Look for bait schools and pot holes. Predator fish love to ambush baits as they pass holes and structure areas. Snapper and sheephead have been abundant as well around dock pilings and rock piles. Live shrimp and a small size one circle hook and game on. This fishing will keep anglers and kids smiling all day.
