Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 4/21/07
This week had its ups and downs, the early part was slow but it came back strong the last three days of the week. Wednesday we caught some good numbers with about 16 lbs. in the best of 5. Thursday was really strong with over 20lbs.of fish as we were culling 3.5 lb. fish. Friday we did not catch as many but had several in the 4 lb. range and Saturday was nearly as strong as Thursday. Needless to say it was great to see the fish react the way they should in April.
I have to say that my big sponsors baits paid off well. Thursday we caught them mainly on "Punishers Flame Spinner" bait Watermelon color and June bug color on Friday.
Saturday it was all about the jig bite. Tight-Line jigs watermelon and blue ¼ oz. jig caught all the fish swimming the jig with one exception.
We fished several areas of the lake over the week; I spent 3 days with a couple of Doctors out of Indiana and had a great time, and some local folks early in the week. Most the fish were caught in less than 6 ft. of water and some shallower.
I have the first few days of this up coming week, available if you would like to fish and still have several open dates in May.
