For G.R.Colford & Sons Limited on the South West Miramichi and Tributaries. The water temperature is very good the past few days staying in the mid 50's to low 60'sF. Lots of fish being seen even in the low water conditions. With only showers in the forecast for the next few days we will have to adjust to these fishing conditions and hope the fish does the same. There have been some fish got in some beats on the river but very few per day. They seem to be there but just are not interested in the flies you throw at them! Pools with large numbers are landing 1 or 2 per day but the average pools are struggling to get em to take. Flies of choice for the past few days have been Preachers, Undertakers, Stoats Tails, Yellow Ally Shrimp's, Glitter Bears and Bombers of various colors. Jimmy Vickers, Rob Strange, Bill Maples and a few other anglers have been picking up a fish or two the last few days on these flies. A few of these fish do have sea lice on them and I have seen that for myself. So they are coming in even in these low water conditions. Makes you wonder what it will be like if we get a good rain to get the river levels up. It is also getting close to the end of the season for anglers and I would like to thank everybody that took the time to read my Reports. Hope you had a great season and for the rest that are hoping to get them this fall lets have tight lines! Will try and be back tomorrow night with another report for you.
Bye for now,
Rodney Colford of The Main South West Miramichi River in New Brunswick, Canada.
