Captain Judy's Saltwater Fishing Report
Inshore, Offshore, Freshies Suggestions, and "Little Miss Judy's Believe It or Not!"
Spanish Mackerel
Our artificial reefs and beachfronts are holding the attention of this fish. Our season started last week with "some serious catches!" Normally these fish can be seen jumping in these areas listed. However, the bulk of these fish were caught in deeper water than usual. However, whatever caused the offshore gathering has ceased! The normal is back meaning you can fish and catch them holding in tide rips, over and around wrecks, shipping channel, and beachfronts.
Your best bait is going to be lures that are pitched to or trolled by this fish. Clark spoons have been a great favorite of fishermen as well as fish. There are plenty of lures on them market that will probably work. However, there is one thing for sure the spoons with the red ball get the most attention by this fish. With that being said, "purchase yourself some Clark Spoons today!" My favorite sizes are small and medium!
