Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak

Frank and Bernatte Dicenzo from Rhode Island chartered the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Frank is in the trucking business and knows his diesels very well. We had a good conversation on the mechanics of diesel engines and the different types.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water by the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, less than 2 miles from shore.

We put out one #6 plainer with a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon on an 80 ft. trace tipped with 40 lb floral carbon. Four surface baits we had four Bonito strips and a dredge. We started out trolling the reefs in depths of water ranging from 80 ft. out to 200 ft. of water, zigzagging in and out of the reefs. Frank and his wife took turns bringing in their catches and taking photos. Their total catch was two Mahi Mahi's that were released, three Kingfish, three Barracudas and four Bonitos.

All the anglers retired into the a/c salon to relax on the ride back to the dock at Bahia Mar, 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
