Fishing report for the week ending 2/20 2011
Its February and the fishing and weather couldn"t be better, after what was looking like a repeat of last winter we suddenly snapped out of it . Air and most importantly water temperatures are on the rise and the fish and fisherman are loving it.With a few exceptions there are a noticeable larger amount of species available, Sharks, pompano and mackerel are all showing up. Pictured is a 5ft. Bull shark cruising the flat in Pine Island sound.
This guy a couple of his friends and dozens of bonet heads and small Black tips were easy to find this weekend and a blast to catch.Sea Trout have been good in size and numbers, the bigger slot fish were taken fishing potholes on low incomming tides with a white redfish magic on a jighead. Pompano also have been caught on the redfish magic and pompano jigs tipped with shrimp.
Redfish and snook were a little slower this week, but who cares with all this action going on.
This week the weather and fishing looks great, remember Tarpon season will be here soon get your reservations NOW!
