Well here we go again. They are calling for low 30's the next four days here

in Central Florida.I have lived here all my life and I cannot recall a winter

like we are having.Seems like every cold front brings 1 or 2 inches

of rain before the cold front and that makes for a damp cold that is hard

to handle no matter where you are from.Today I had some of my regular

Nas Car clients from PENN.Ty, Steven and AL.The bites were

few but when one bit it was a BIG FISH.This makes the third year in a row

these three guys have fished with me the day before the Daytona 500

and each year they get on the big fish here on the St Johns River.

The problem today was keeping these big fish hooked up.

We went 1 for 4 with the big fish and Ty was the only one to get his fish

in the boat and it was a 9 pounder. The other three fish were just as big as

we got a good look at them as they crashed the big wild shiners on the surface.

The picture is not great as my camera was so cold it kept killing the new batteries

as soon as I put them in the camera. At 11.30 am with the air temps in the low 40's

along with a 20 MPH NORTH WIND these guys begged me to take them in.

Now you know it's cold when you have clients from Penn that are dressed

with lots of warm cloths and two pair of gloves each and catching 9 pound

fish and ask to go home .The fish caught today were in the deeper water near the

spawning flats off the main river.
