With the weatherman pulling his hair out calling for rain it is producing a downfall of fresh snow, again. We are wondering if were ever going to get to the river and fish with a boat. Today we decided to do a walk-in to one of our favorite pools called "Indy's Pool". Having fished the run most of the morning this colored, average sized Steelhead fell to one of my new creations called none other than "Peaches". Having swung my fly into the creek entrance this steelie took with aggression and headed down river then decided to tangle himself in my line, so the battle was short and sweet. After some pictures, the Steelhead darted back into the emerald green water unharmed. Expecting the spawning partner to be in the vicinity proved to be a no show. At the bottom of the run Ted had a nice take but the Steelhead eluded the bluntness of his fly. Not a bad day as the sun was shining and the spring in the air. Water conditions are perfect for the fly and temperatures around 38F, 42F ambient.
Guests are arriving from England, Austria and the United States for week 1 of Steelhead action, see you on the river.
