On a recent trip we spent the whole time fishing for Reds. The creeks are loaded with Red fish but some times it's hard to get them to bite!
The ticket this morning was to stay as far as you could from them and just let your bait sit on the bottom. Not the most fun fishing you can do but when that rod bends to the water and is peeling off line its well worth the wait.
The bait that was working the best for us was a finger mullet with his tail cut off and just let it sit on the bottom. It didn't take long for it to get hammered!
The fish were not all huge but good slot fish with a few in the 6 pound range mixed in. All in all out of 13 Red fish hooked up we boated 9 so it was a great morning.
The water has been so dirty that Flounder gigging has been almost impossible. We tried a few nights ago and only stuck 4 fish. Not because there not here but you just can't see. We did manage to stick one real nice fish so that made it worth it…
Thanks to all for great times.
