Early morning fishing and a stealthy approach has made a good combination for fishing, reports Captain Keith Mixon (http://www.mixinworkwithplay.com/). Throughout the Banana River, "gator" size trout have been hitting top water lures from first light until mid morning. This has been especially true on foggy mornings or other low light conditions. Many of my clients have caught and released several trout up to five or even six pounds in the past few days. In turn, the redfish bite has slowed down slightly. Many anglers have found that a fresh cut piece of lady fish will work well around drop offs near the flats for slot size reds. Around Port Canaveral, Sheepshead have not been able to resist shrimp when fished near structure.
