Bass catching at Stick Marsh and Farm 13 is wonderful! Catching Big Bass is the biggest draw of Stick Marsh and Farm 13. While the numbers of bass caught are less than in the past the large bass are still there and still being caught. Weather is a big key in encouraging the BIG bass to bite. Adjusting to the weather and water conditions at hand is the major key.

I can only write for what my clients and I are producing. When the wind is out of the North fish North. When the wind is out of the South fish South. When the wind is out of the East fish Southeast. When the wind is out of the West fish the Southwest. When the wind is calm fish the South or fish the middle portion of Stick Marsh.

There are many BIG bass locations that have not been fished this season. There is one BIG bass location that has not been fished in three years.

The weather is warming and with it will come increased numbers of bass caught. The water temperature at Stick Marsh and Farm 13 is just above 70. Ideal temperature to produce to numbers and numbers of BIG bass.

With the arrival of warm weather I forsee the lake levels lowering. This is a GOOD THING for top water fishing. Maybe, it will be difficult to move the boat around. But, along with difficult boat movement comes some of the most exciting BIG bass topwater action you can imagine - maybe much better than you can imagine. When the water temp goes above 75; when the wind slows for a period of time; AND when the water clears; bring your CHUG BUGS, SPOOKS, FROGS, maybe a BUZZBAIT; and SOFT PLASTICS that skirt across the top and be prepared for the most lively topwater action you have ever experienced!

Live bait is the way most folks have been going it at this time. Not everyone wants to use live bait and on some occasions the use of artificials has produced larger numbers of bass than the live bait. Spinnerbaits have produced some very good numbers early in the day. One fisherman reported catching them on tandem willow leaf blades in a shad color. Rattle Trap type lures also produced in the darker colored water when the live bait would not produce. Senko's fished without a weight, with a weight and any way you can fish them slow have also produced. The key with the Senko type bait is that the lure needs to be the medium size. The seven and eight inch versions seem not to be desired by the bass near as much as the smaller versions. The BIG Senko type lures sure do throw good!!
