The dolphin action has finally picked up again after many days of westerly winds that have pushed them farther out and shut off the bite. The fish are anywhere from 8 to 15 or so miles offshore mostly under birds or floating debris. Most of the fish are caught on live pilchards or threadfins and cut ballyhoo or bonito.Keep your 50-80lb. rod ready as you may run into blue marlin looking for a schoolie snack. We keep a 400lb.mono leader ready with a 16/0 circle hook with a 7/0 Mustad 9174 pinned to the bottom of thr circle hook to hook your dolphin in the upper jaw and fire him out there. There have been some small wahoo around the floaters with a #3 planer and a 60ft.piece of 80lb. mono with a #3-1/2 Drone spoon taking care of that. The kingfish have been biting good on the reef with the same live bait on 20lb. spinners with a 50ft.40lb.leader with a 4oz.lead attached via a floss loop and the lead with a snap swivel attached to it that you can add and remove without handlining the leader to the fish.We are open now so give us a call to book your charter.Check us out @ DeckTech Sportfishing.com.Tight lines
