The rockfish are still biting out of Half Moon Bay. The Huli Cat has been running as far as San Gregorio. Much of the drift fishing is being done in the Three Rocks area. "The anglers are catching nice brownies, an occasional copper, some yellowtaill and olives, some blues, blacks, cabezon and greenling. There have been a few lings everyday as well," says Capt Tom Mattusch. "This last week had a lot of wind on the outside, which precluded Farallon Island trips. We have our eyes on the weather and sea temps, hoping that breaks loose soon." Capt. Tom says he spoke to NOAA/NMFS and had been promised the Deep Water permits two weeks ago. The same excuses are being recycled, 'the lawyers still have to look at them'.
