Shimano Trevala Rods Reviews
|
Details:The Shimano Trevala has quickly become a standard in high speed jigging for many anglers. While the popularity with jigging has been great, many experienced anglers have figured out what an excellent rod it can be for live bait fishing, inshore fishing, and more. The light rod with big backbone gives anglers the ability to have an inshore feel with offshore attitude. Shimano's TC4 construction is very strong and unique in it's own.

It is very light weight but rates to handle 50-100lb braid. We fish it with 65lb braid and 80 to 100lb leader. With tarpon pushing 200lbs we are able to really stick it to them in a short amount of time with lots of drag. My reel of choice to match this rod with is a shimano stella. Don't be confused with the price of this rod as previous review says... it is a very high quality rod. Rating: Can't believe this rod is only $120!?!?! Reviewed on April 12, 2010 by Mike from Davie, FL I was introduced to this rod from a friend, although I have been considering it for quite some time. I was a little thrown off by "jigging rod" and wasn't sure if it was right for the type of fishing I do. Don't make the same mistake I did. This rod is perfect for all types of fishing. I purchased the Spinning Rod 50-100 and paired it with a Cabo Quantum 60. The rod/reel is very balanced and feels so light. We have been fishing it for big tarpon with lots of drag - 12lbs + for as long as the angler can take it. I have been casting 2lb mullet with it, no problem and it responds so well. I would expect a rod of this quality to be $300+. This TC4 construction is damn awesome and with Braid there is no reason for me to be fishing big bulky rods offshore any longer. Add your own review |
